On January 1, 2022, operational amplifier New Japan Radio Co., Ltd. and power supply IC Ricoh Electronic Devices Co., Ltd. merged to form the new Nisshinbo Microdevices Inc. Nisshinbo Microdevices has strengths in analog technology, and through the synergy (synergistic effect) of the two companies' complementary technologies, we will focus on the two areas of energy management and signal processing through our electronic device business and our microwave product business. New Japan Radio and Ricoh Electronic Devices have very little overlap in their product areas, and by integrating the two companies, they aim to further develop in two areas: power supply ICs, battery monitoring ICs, power devices, etc., and signal processing ICs such as operational amplifiers and comparators, which are aimed at the expansion of the sensor market. In particular, they will provide optical semiconductors that utilize module technology, RF devices manufactured using their own GaAs process, and acoustic sensors, which are sensors (future systems) that use sound to predict failures.
