New air-core inductors address high-performance filtering, efficient energy transfer, and narrow inductance tolerances required for high-frequency applications
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — January 29, 2026 — Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, has announced the introduction of its AC3028SQ, AC5037SQ, ACXX14SQ, ACXX15SQ, and ACXX18SQ air-core inductor series. These five new series offer high Q factors, high self-resonant frequencies (SRFs), and narrow inductance tolerances, enabling designers to meet the ongoing demands for smaller, faster, and denser electronic devices. These new air-core inductors are available in flat-top and flat-bottom rectangular packages, which enable efficient, reliable pick-and-place assembly and excellent mechanical stability.
Key features of the five new inductor series include a Q factor of up to 230 and an inductance range of 5.5nH to 82nH, making them ideal choices for the latest high-frequency TV and radio receivers, wireless transmitters, RF amplifiers, and tuning applications. Additionally, the AC3028SQ, AC5037SQ, ACXX14SQ, ACXX15SQ, and ACXX18SQ series inductors feature narrow inductance tolerances of 2% and 5%, with DCR values ranging from 3.4mΩ to 12mΩ. Rated currents range from 2.7A to 5.6A, and operating temperatures range from −25°C to +125°C.
The Bourns® AC3028SQ, AC5037SQ, ACXX14SQ, ACXX15SQ, and ACXX18SQ air core inductor series are currently available and are RoHS compliant.
