RIVERSIDE, Calif. – September 17, 2025 – Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, announced the CWM-Q Series, a new series of automotive-grade, AEC-Q200-qualified, wide-terminal thick film resistors designed for demanding applications requiring high power density and robustness. In response to recent demands from automotive and industrial equipment designers for higher power handling per area (W/Area) and reliable solder joints, Bourns developed this thick film resistor series with a wide-terminal design for improved heat dissipation and mechanical stability, making it particularly suitable for heat-sensitive power applications requiring high reliability, such as automotive ECUs, LED lighting modules, and power management systems.

The Bourns® CWM-Q Series is available in compact 0612 and 1225 size packages, with power ratings up to 2W and resistance values ranging from 1Ω to 1MΩ, providing flexibility to meet a variety of design needs. Constructed from RoHS-compliant materials, these devices are compatible with standard reflow soldering processes. They have a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +155°C and have been tested under accelerated stress conditions, including thermal cycling, high-temperature exposure, humidity resistance, and mechanical shock.

The CWM-Q series is currently available and is RoHS compliant (※1) and halogen-free (※2).
