Bourns® Wide Terminal CRK Series Expands to Dissipate Up to 3W of Power in a Small 1225 Size Footprint—Meets the Needs of High-Current Applications

Riverside, Calif. — July 9, 2025 — Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, announces the expansion of its popular CRK Series with the new CRK1225 current sense resistor. This new product, capable of dissipating up to 3W of power, offers a wider resistance range. Compliant with AEC-Q200 automotive standards, the wide terminal design employs metal strip technology for improved heat dissipation and reduced hot spots. Housed in a compact 1225-size package, this current sense resistor is an ideal solution for voltage measurement in modern high-current applications, such as power supply circuits, stepper motor drives, input amplifiers, electric vehicle battery management systems (BMS), on-board chargers, ADAS, and power domain controllers.

Current sense resistors have been gaining increasing attention in recent years due to their small package size, excellent TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) accuracy, and relatively low cost compared to other technologies. The CRK1225 model achieves a minimum resistance of 1mΩ, enabling highly accurate current sensing while minimizing power loss. This series is also designed to withstand harsh environments subject to thermal and mechanical stress, and its sulfur-resistant design ensures stable operation even in high-sulfur or polluted environments.

The Bourns® CRK1225 series is available now and is RoHS compliant and halogen-free.
