PF2270 Series Thick Film Resistors Provide Excellent Heat Dissipation and Thermal Efficiency in Motor Drives, Power Conversion, and Energy Storage Systems

Riverside, Calif. — July 1, 2025 — Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, introduces a new thick film resistor series that offers high thermal resistance in a compact TO-227 package. The Bourns® Riedon™ PF2270 series power thick film resistors feature thick film technology and excellent pulse withstand capability, dissipating up to 300W of power when used with a heatsink. Their low inductance design and high power dissipation capability make them an ideal solution for high-performance electronic designs, including industrial motor drives, power conversion, and energy storage systems.

The advanced design of the TO-227 package allows for operating temperatures up to +175°C. The PF2270 series offers a wide resistance range from 100mΩ to 100kΩ with 1% and 5% resistance tolerance options. These features provide excellent current limiting performance, precise current measurement, and excellent capacitor discharge capability, making it ideal for applications requiring high power density and improved reliability.
