New air coil inductors address high frequency application demands for enhanced signal filtering, efficient energy transfer and tight inductance tolerances
RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- April 8, 2025 -- Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, introduces a new series of air coil inductors featuring high Q values and high self-resonant frequencies. The Bourns® AC1060R, AC2213R, AC3630R, AC4013R and AC6830R series are designed for high frequency applications and provide a low energy loss solution. These inductors feature low inductance values, tight inductance tolerances and high frequency operation.
These new air coil inductors feature a wire coil construction without a magnetic core, significantly reducing inductance values to provide superior functionality at high frequencies. With high Q values from 87 to 145 and inductances from 1.65nH to 538nH, they are ideal for next-generation TV and radio receivers, radio transmitters, RF amplifiers and tuning applications. The series' tight tolerances provide DC resistances from 1.1mΩ to 90mΩ, rated currents up to 4A and an operating temperature range of -25°C to +125°C. The air coil inductors also feature epoxy covers to enhance mechanical stability and support pick-and-place manufacturing automation processes.
The Bourns® AC1060R, AC2213R, AC3630R, AC4013R and AC6830R series are currently available and are RoHS compliant.
