The AHV85000 and AHV85040 are dual chipsets that provide a cost-optimized solution of isolated gate drive for GaN FETs. Combined with one of the recommended external transformers, they provide an ideal self-powered isolated gate drive solution for GaN FETs in multiple applications and topologies. You can choose from recommended 3rd party transformers optimized for different drive voltages and gate charge characteristics, such as E-mode GaN (6V drive) and cascode GaN (12V drive).

The chipset routes both the PWM signal and gate bias power through an external transformer, eliminating the need for an external gate drive auxiliary bias supply or high-side bootstrap. This greatly simplifies system design, reduces the total common-mode capacitance, and therefore reduces EMI. It can also drive floating switches anywhere in a switching power supply topology.

- Separate pull-up (2.8 Ω) and pull-down (1.0 Ω) drive output pins

- Primary VDRV and secondary VSEC undervoltage lockout

- Continuous ON function: No need to recycle IN or recharge the bootstrap capacitor
CMTI: Higher than 100 V/ns dv/dt immunity (when using recommended transformer)
・Creepage distance longer than 4mm or 8mm (when using the recommended transformer)
・Safety standard certification
- 5kV RMS VISO per UL1577
- Up to 8kV pk VIOTM transient isolation voltage
- Up to 1kV pk working insulation voltage
