In Splunk, by default, the priority of the font used when outputting PDF from the dashboard is higher for Chinese than for Japanese.

In order to output PDF with Japanese fonts, the following settings are described.

Setup steps

Open the alert_actions.conf file under $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/system/local.
(Create a new one if it does not exist.)
Put the following in the created alert_actions.conf file:
[email]
reportCIDFontList = jp gb cns kor
Restart Splunk.

$SPLUNK_HOME/bin/splunk restart

*$SPLUNK_HOME is the installation directory. By default, it is as follows:

Linux :

Splunk Enterprise : /opt/splunk
Universal Forwarder : /opt/splunkforwarder

Windows :

Splunk Enterprise : C:\Program Files\Splunk
Universal Forwarder : C:\Program Files\SplunkUniversalForwarder
