For security improvement in medical device manufacturing! Explanation of how to use SBOM and vulnerability management

Incidents at medical institutions have increased in recent years, and the security of equipment used in hospitals is attracting attention. With the aim of improving security in the field of medical devices, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has released the ``Guidance on Introduction of Cybersecurity for Medical Devices, Second Edition''. Overseas, the FDA has also released a “Draft Guidance on Recommendations for Cybersecurity Measures that Medical Device Manufacturers Should Include.” These guidelines refer to the creation and management of the software bill of materials (SBOM) included in medical devices, and the risk assessment and control measures for components with known vulnerabilities.

However, there may be some people who actually don't know how to use SBOM, want to manage it efficiently, or are worried about the security of their devices.
